EEA4 - CoA unable to confirm right to work

Hi guys,

I recently submitted my EEA4 application for the residence permit after my 5 years visa as a family member has expired.

Together with the bundle of documents sent to HO I did add all relevant documents for the last 5 years period as requested in the application. Payment was taken after 3 days of receiving the application, and the letter and email from HO were receiver a couple days after stating that it would be passed on to a caseworker.

Just today I received my CoA stating that they are unable to confirm my right to work in the UK and this will depend on the outcome of my application. I am really worried as my wife is actually on maternity leave with our baby only on his 3 months of life, I am the only one supporting the family and not sure now how my employer will react with this.

Is this normal from HO to say that on the letter? I did send all documents, one thing tho is that my wife's passport is expired and she has only the normal ID card which was sent with the application, I don't see this being a problem but its the only different reason I reckon.

I am really worried about and would like to see if any of you had the same/similar issue with HO?

Regards

Well this usually happens a lot.

I usually write to inform that all the exception to a COA with a right to work, not being issued, does not apply to my case.

It is usually sent few weeks after.

So if you write to them, a proper one will be issued.

Obie, thanks a lot... I will write them back asking to review my CoA as you said, hope this goes well.
I already sent the first letter to my employer but they said they needed the CoA in case they get audited by the HO somehow.

fingers crossed as I cannot afford to be unemployed at the moment.
:(

Hi all,

Just wanted to share here my experience until present day in regards to the CoA without permission to work.
My case is as follows:

14/08/14 -> Sent EEA4 Application
18/08/14 -> Application received by the HO (signed for)
19/08/14 -> Payment taken from my account

01/09/14 -> First CoA received (unable to confirm the right to work)
05/09/14 -> Sent the request to review my CoA
13/09/14 -> Second CoA received (with permission to continue to work or accept employment offers)

I am glad I wrote back and this is solved for now, fingers crossed and waiting the RC soon.
Thanks Obie for the tip on this.

Regards,

rebert

Hi obie,
I just want to know that could you please tell me the e mail where to email as I received a COA with no right to work too.
Although I sent my DNa with sister to prove my relationship.
They actually issued bio metric letter and COA on the same date which is quite unusual. Pls reply .
Thanks
