Hello Everyone,

First of all, thank you for the fantastic help you provide on Immigrationboards. I've to say this place is way more helpful rather than the Citizen A.B, at least in the town where im currently living. Therefore, a big cheer to all of you who are always open to provide help to those in need.

I am a EEAl Italian Citizen who's been living in the UK for the past 5 years. Im curently excersing treaty right as I've been always working since i've been here, currently under a 18k year salary contract.

My brother who is 42 and currently living in Venezuela, wishes to apply for a EEA4. I am currently asking for benefits (Housing&Council) just to top up, Child Tax Credit and have debts for around 8k. Would this have any negative impact on the application?

What does he needs to provide? Does he needs to provide he's self sufficient of would it be enough with my status? Basically, im helping my brother who's currently struggling the effects of the worst social and political situation in my country ever. He did not have the same right as me to become italian, due to a dodgy law, where my dad had to reclaim back his italian citizenship and had the chance to made us italian on the same way, but him and my oldest brother, were already 18 and could not longer become italians.

I would appreciate the help of whoever has been on the same situation or knows, on which grounds would it be the best to submit this application or in the worst scenario, you think it could be denied.

Kindest Regards to all of you.

G.

Doesn't he have to be dependent on you?

AIUI he can only apply for a residence card if he is dependant on you - so that means financially.

If he is not fully dependant on you - he cannot apply.

For you to be sending him enough money to live in Argentina (keeping in mind it isn't just a little top up that's required - but it has to be the majority of his income), given the benefits you are collecting, would be ... impressive.

Is it the case that your brother was issued a residence card before and he is now applying for permanent residence, or has he never been issued a residence card before?

Does he live in your home?

Might have had a card before of course.

It is difficult to deduce from that statement , that he has been issued a Residence card before, or has lived in the uk as dependent on him.

No and no.

Just want to bring him from overseas as he is having a bad economical situation due to the hash situation in the country that is very similar to Cuba and North Korea. BTW, noticed that at the bottom page of the application for EEA4, says: yo cannot apply if you are citizen of Cuba or North Korea.

I believe you mean an EEA family permit, rather than EEA4.
