Hi there,

I am a non EEA national with EEA2 RC and my wife holds EEA1 RC. We recently traveled to Norway, France and Spain. I was having an impression that since we are married couple and travelling together we wont be needing visa to travel these countries. All these countries we been to when we got to the immigration counter, I opened the page where I have EEA2 RC along with my wifes passport they ignored the EEA2 RC and flicked around the passport to find the schengen visa and stamped on my schengen visa. I was surprised when they stamped on the schengen visa. Is this normal? do they prefer to stamp on schengen visa than accepting the EEA2 visa?

Thanks all

Legally no eu country should place stamp on eea2 RC but due to lack of directive knowledge most of the airport staff do place stamp. But if on entry they place stamp then its better to ask them to place stamp when leaving that EU country.
