Hello Guys,

I just need some help with my current application for permanent residence. Well, I came to the UK as a minor with my mother nearly nine years ago from another EU country and want to apply for PR now, since she's never done that.

Obviously my mom had beed exercising treaty rights up until I could do I did myself (started working at 16), which is roughly seven years now.

I have been to school here in England, did college and University and all.

I just wanted to know if someone is or has been in a similar situation as I am right now and could advice me on how to go on about it? Also, how does it work with the CSI? Has anyone made any good experiences with one specific and affordable insurer?

Cheers

If one of your parent was exercising treaty right for a complete period of 5 years, since your entry, then you should be able to qualify, provided you were under 21 during this relevant period, and if you were not, that you were dependent on your parents.

Alternatively, if you were working, you should be able to qualify in your own right as worker.

Thanks for that Obie!
The thing is that two years after coming to the UK, at 14, I also started exercising Treaty Rights, being employed part time and a student. Upon our arrival in the UK my mother did obtain a registration certificate for herself but never acquired CSI. As I have been exercising TR for nearly approx 7yrs now, and only have taken on a CSI is there any change of my application getting refused since I was not covered for a minimum period of 5yrs?
And should I apply for both, registration and PR at the same time or just go ahead and apply for PR only?
