I don't understand this misinformed newspaper.
According to EU law, these family members do have a right of entry.
The EEA family permit is a requirement which continues to apply to family members without Residence Card issued by other member states.

Hi Obie,
I wasn't aware that you had already covered it nevertheless it is good news for those who wish to pursue the Singh route.
I hope ECJ can do a similar ruling for non-eu spouse of British nationals who should in theory be allowed to travel in Europe without the need for a Schengen visa. If they want to promote the idea a true bordless EU with freemovement in mind they should lift this restriction as well.

Donot take serious to the news in newspapers as nothing such has officially been adopted by UK authorities. There has been several news coming in newspapers for the last many years even the news(rumour) that UK is leaving European Union and countless threads has been made over same issue. But nothing has been changed even UK authorities making more tougher the marriage rules from march 2015 for non eu nationals. Reading newspapers, expressing news is everybody's right but UK is already tired and fed up and possibly without caring anything will continue. A very popular thread was here in past called eu commission will take uk into court and will penalize them but nothing happened anything even a silly requirement of csi still existing despite several campaigns, court proceedings, appeals etc.
