If one is married to an EEA national does the person automatically become an EEA national or a temporary resident. Please help me

How/when you can apply for naturalization to gain your spouse's nationality is up the naturalization framework in his/her country, but generally naturalization requires a residence period which is often shortened for the spouse of a citizen.

Under EU law the spouse of a non-British EEA national (who is validly exercising treaty rights -- see the many posts on this board regarding details or simply use google) is entitled to a residence permit. I believe that in the UK, this is generally issued for 5 years.
