Hello Everyone!

A massive thanks in advance for an amazing job everyone do here! It has been of massive help. :)

Just to clarify something in terms of EEA4 treaty rights for continuous of 5 years for a EU citizen.

My husband came to the UK when he was very young under Irish passport. He studied Primary school (dont have the records as they do not hold it when the person has turn 25 and over), Secondary school (I have a letter - not addressed to UKBA - stating that he went to school from September 2000 - July 2002, very difficult to find with the county council under Information Act) and also a transcript stating that my husband went to uni (2003 - 2004) plus one p60 duplicate for a year (2004 - 2005). That sums 5 years continuously. Now, I read that he should have had comprehensive insurance but he came here when he was really young and in primary - secondary school. Does a EU citizen still need to have had insurance that long ago and even if he was under-age?

Another thing we could do (I am in the process but HMRC said it would take several weeks for an answer) is request a record of National Insurance contributions. My husband was working part time for 2 years (as he was at uni as well) and there may be gaps. How big can these gaps be?

Imagine he came to the UK in 1999 but we have had an huge problem proving treaty rights for continuously 5 years!

If someone can shed some light, it would be greatly appreciated. Apologies if someone has posted something along the lines before but I swear I have looked everywhere here for an answer!!

Many thanks in advance,

Nachfee
