Urgent Help Please!!!

Hello guys,
I am in a dilema, My granddad passed away last night and I want to go to England for his funeral with my wife and daughter.
I am British Citizen living and working in Germany since september 2014. My wife is Non-Eu with Family member of EU citizen residency card issued under article 10 from Germany. We have a 2 year old daughter who also is British Citizen.
We have all supporting documents marriage certificate, work contract etc.
We just want to go for 1 week for my Grandad's funeral.
Can we just book our flight and travel without Visa or must we apply for one because I have read some have travelled without but I want confirmation of this.
