Can non-EEA spouse of EU national stay if EU national leaves

Help!
I am an EEA national married to a non-EEA national and we were married in the UK in September 2012. I have lived in the UK since 2008 and my wife since 2010. We both work full-time and my wife was granted her EEA2 in December 2012, which I gather is now the EEA Family Permit. I have been offered employment outside of the EU, which would involve relocating and we are considering our options.
Does my wife have to leave the UK, if I accept the employment?
Is there any way she can stay in the UK via the retained rights path?
Thank you for any advice.
