Travelling Eurostar with COA?

Hi everyone,

I searched everywhere in these forums for a topic about this, and couldn't find it, hope I'm not being repetitive..!

I'm a non-EEA citizen (Brazilian), married to an EEA citizen (Italian), living and working in the UK for over 5 years now, and we have a child together. I have recently applied for PR, and received a COA dated 31st of July.

Turns out the company I work for needs to send me to France at the end of October, and my RC (currently with HO along with ALL my original documents) expires on the 15th of October, just before the trip.

Can anyone advise me on whether it's possible to travel Eurostar (London-Paris-London), not having my husband with me, with just my passport and a COA? I haven't requested my passport back yet, so would it be the case of requesting also my husband's passport, marriage certificate, etc?

You cannot travel without passport.
You can enter the schengen area at your own rights via your brazilian passport. Maybe you get asked about financial resources and health insurance at the border. If you have a right to work in the guest country you have to discuss with your firm.
The COA should be enough for the travel back to the UK at least for a EEA regulation stamp.

Thank you so much for replying, I really appreciate it! :D

I will request the passport back, I was just wondering if I should request any of the other documents back as well (eg: husband's passport/marriage certificate/expired residency card)?

Since I'm travelling alone, I'm worried they'll ask for proof that I can't provide, since everything is currently with HO..

The COA is the proof that everything is with the HO.

Hi everyone,

Could someone please let me know about travelling with a COA (awaiting RC) ; I'm an Indian national married to an EU citizen. We would like to travel to Spain for a wedding & Christmas later this year. I plan to apply for a Schengen visa although I'm not sure I would be eligible based on only the COA?

Also, will re-entering the U.K. be an issue if my spouse is accompanying me? And what would be the easier way to travel; rail or Stupid?

Thank you.

That is what I wonder too.

I have Schengen visa valid for 2 years. My UK family permit valid till middle of December.
My wife wants to go Poland for Christmas and New year's ewe.
I applied for RC and got my COA.

My question will I need new Family Permit?
Do I need new FP?
Can I apply visa here in UK?(as Christmas time not suitable to get visa) or can I apply new FP before current one expired?
P.S.: We will travel together. Plane or Ferry
