Hi,

I applied for RC after coming to uk with EEA Family Permit and I received COA with no right to work. I wanted to write them back and ask to correct the COA, but I don't know to which address ( email or post) should I send my letter? can you please help me with that?

There is nothing wrong with the COA that you received , why do you wish to write them?

Did you have an EEA family permit before you applied?

Yes I have a Family permit visa which is still valid. My underestanding was that this visa gives me the right to work in UK.

You are correct, if you supplied sufficient evidence.

I think Obie is correct, as you are EEA EXTENDED family member. To my knowledge, Home office will only issue "short" COA (no right to work) to EEA EXTENDED family member.

My answer was Subject to the question I asked at the End, which OP answered in the affirmative.

Therefore Vinny is correct that she is a family member within 7 (3) and therefore entitled to a Full COA.

I was wrong then. Sorry OP!

Just to understand correctly, does this mean- people who are extended family members, are better off applying EEA Family Permit first to enter UK and then apply RC. Then they should be issued long COA, regardless they are family member or extend family member ?

Thanks Vinny!

This really should be notified to many people, who had to wait for 6 months, without long COA, to start to find a job. As I saw many applicants were beset by it.

Hope more people find this post and benefit from the information.
