WHEN TO APPLY FOR PR?

Hi again guys,

I can't seem to find any previous discussion on my enquiry. If there are any please provide me with a link.

This question is really for a friend and I myself like many other, may eventually find it useful.
Friend has got a rc card still valid into summer 2016, however he will qualify for pr months before then.

So the question is how soon can one apply for pr? Generally and in the senario described.
Can one apply a month, 2 or 3 months before due date?
Are there any regulations that addresses this?

Thank you

As soon as applicant (or their sponsor) has completed 5 years of exercising treaty rights as qualified person; (assuming any absences are within prescribed limits).

Thank you noajthan,

I think the the eu spouse as qualified ages ago with no absents exceeding limit. Correct me if I am wrong, the dependant has to complete five years of marriage or help rc for exactly 5 years before applying for pr and nothing less than that.

Don't worry so much about the date & expiry of any RC.

The direct family dependent (eg spouse) needs 5 years of marriage (to same person) coinciding with 5 years of residence in UK (& their absences kept within limits too).
All at the same time as the sponsor/spouse is in UK & either exercising treaty rights or holding PR.
