Hello ,

I am looking for some information that i cant seem to find anywhere regarding my particular case.
i am looking to get a permanent residence card .

my parents came to work in uk before 2003 and i came with them at that time when i was 19 and have been here since. I cant get paper evidence for myself with qualified status due to gap of 10 months .

from my understanding under 21s would not need to prove established dependency nor qualified status. would i be able to get a PRC in this way as a direct family member of eea qualified national.

Ive got my mothers p60 s from 2004 onwards as proof of her exercising treaty rights as a worker.


any advice is appreciated,

Yes dependents can be sponsored by parents exercising treaty rights.
But (on your stated facts) you were only a minor for 2 years, until age 21.
At 21 you would have to prove dependency on your sponsor.

Suggest you post your timeline in your own right & people can point you in right direction.

If you've been in UK for the last 13 years or so surely there must be a 5-year period in there somewhere where you were a qualified person exercising treaty rights.

its been for closer to 11 and 1/2 years of which 7 1/2 working years (but never 5y constinuoslly gap 10 months ) and rest as dependant,jobseeker or self sufficient. Problems that i see in my case is with providing papers for this, like eu Health insurance card which has never been a requirement for using the nhs, and the fact that i did not register with Jobcentre or kept papers when jobseeking, and when dependant on parents i never got any bank transfers i just lived with them and got food on my plate.

with regards to the under 21s route would it need to be 5 years PRIOR to turning 21 or does the the year i was 21 count. My mother has been working continously since 2000 and she has asked for a NI Statement for those years, would that be enough or would i need any other papers?

Is there an email for the home office i can use (cant seem to find one) that i could double check these facts
before sending application?

Don't advise you relying on HO helpline for a pre-check. It's notoriously unreliable.

Requirements are clear for acquiring PR, 5 years continuously exercising treaty rights by you (or sponsor) in any valid category of qualified person.

You don't need to have had CSI as a worker;
CSI is only needed for any period as self-sufficient &/or as college student.

Lack of proof of status as jobseeker will be a problem.

No need to show dependency on parent for any time aged under 21.

But if the period rolls over to when you were 21+ you will need to show financial/emotional dependency, (or at least being member of same household as your sponsor/parent).

Mother's tax/NI record from HMRC will help, also any employer letters/contracts &/or P60 tax documents, wage slips & etc.

What was reason for 10 month gap?

Were you abroad?
If so what was the reason? (it may not have broken continuity of residence in UK).

You will need to provide adequate documentary supporting evidence from your sponsor & yourself to have a reasonable chance of success with the application.
