Permanent Resident card of a family member of an EU national

Hi there,

I am a non eu national married to an eu national (9 years so far) and we have been residents of her home country for the past few years. I also have a permanent resident card of a family member of an eu national, issued to me by her home country.

Based on this, would it be permissible for us to travel to the uk without me having an EEA family visa? We both have access to our savings which will cover our costs in the uk till we find jobs.

Thanks,

SJD and NSD

Should be permissible, no evidence of savings is required.

Hi noajthan,

Thank you very much for the quick reply and redirection to the site that has more information.

I doubt it would apply in my case as the residence card that has been issued to me is from the eu nationals' home country, since we are resident there.

I have done a lot of searching and all sites suggest that I get an EEA family permit.

I have no issues in doing this but I wanted to know if there was a shorter route to enter the UK as a family and start a new life there.

There's no other way as UK is not in Schengen;
so its (possibly) with EU RC or else with a UK FP for entry into UK.
