A2 Nationals (Bulgarians&Romanians)Applying for PR

Hi guys,
Has anyone ever applied for a PR:
1) on "self sufficient person`s" basis without medical insurance?
or
2) as a sole director of a ltd company?
Note that A2 nationals may have needed to obtain permission to work up until 1 jan 2014.
I came on a visa as a resident of a 3rd country, opened a company and worked as a sole director for some time, then after my visa expiration I simply continued to provide services but now as A2 national, not sure whether i had to apply for any permissions as i was technically working through my own vehicle and A2 nationals were allowed to either work as a self-employed or be self-sufficient. Now that I have been here for 7 years (5y qualifying period met) I`ve decided to get my PR and it is not clear which way shall i go.
I wonder how may UKBA treat my application. Anyone has an idea/experience?
