EEA3 processing time 2016?

Hello.
My wife (EU ,A8) has applied for EEA 3 2 weeks ago, she has been living in the UK and exercising treaty rights for 5 years through employment.
We decided to pay for the application using a bank cheque which cleared one week after home office received the application.
My wife didn't get any acknowledgement letter from HO yet proving that the application was received though I have read that these usually get sent pretty quick, ?
Are there any ways to contact them ?email?phone?
What are the processing times for EEA3 recently?
Cheers

There's no acknowledgement letter although you might get an email after a couple of weeks (mine came 3 weeks after payment was taken).
The processing times for a
document certifying permanent residence seem to be between 4 and 8 weeks at the moment depending on how complex the case is.
Did she use the old EEA3 form or the current EEA(PR) form

She used the latest EEA PR from HO website.
I didn't know they stopped sending letters by post,,,, we were worryingly waiting for one,,, since when they have switched to e-mails?
Thx for your help....

I have no idea. I only know that they haven't been sending letters for at least the last few months.
Contacting them is useless anyway, they do state that it can take
up to 6 months and if you call them before it has been that long, they'll simply tell you nothing.
You should just relax, it really won't take long unless your case is exceptionally complicated

Look in the timeline thread. The last couple of people have had theirs come through in 8-9 weeks.

Hi, has anyone recently received their permanent residence card?
Here's my timeline so far
Application sent 15 April and received at home office on 18th.
Payment taken 20 April
Biometrics appointment received 17th May and sent on the same day
COA received 26th May
I need my passport to travel because of work in October and was wondering how long does it take to get it back after you request it and if anyone can share their experience to get an idea of when I can expect a response.
Thanks

Hello,
I have sent my application in mid May and received the confirmation of my status today, so 3 months more or less.
