Help please Permanent Residency

Hi there!
I am UK born and have lived here all of my life. However, my partner is French and has been living and working here about 17 years or so.
She is applying for a permanent residency card. What a nightmare the 85 page form is. Nothing seems to be clear.
One thing neither of us can work out is does she need a sponsor?
It also asks on the form for dates and times she spent out of the UK. Does thos mean holidays? If so there is no way she can remember all the exact dates etc,
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

No.

It means ANY time spent outside the UK.

No sponsor required, partner applies in her own right.
The 'out of UK' question relates to any absences: holidays, trips etc.
Do the best you can for relevant qualifying years (not all 17 years).
Yes. it is a monster form but its not actually a legal requirement to use it.
You could take a look at this example that a member has compiled by mashing a simpler form with an up to date biometrics page, up to date HO contact and other details:

Suggest try a dry run with your information (& supporting evidence) - see how it shapes up.

Yes. You could even apply by letter if you so wished and felt like
'going commando'.
