Permanent Residency deemed date

Hi all,
Got yet another question… :)

We have now received our PR certificates (me and the wife) and would like to apply for BN however I’m slightly concerned about the “deemed date” of our PR status.

We have been in UK nice 2006 and have got the WRS done straight away etc. When applying for PR I have send supporting info for 2009-2014 to make sure plenty time left after to meet the 12month period.

So everything should be fine but before committing £2,500 I would like to make sure that in the HO system we got our status deemed date as of 2014 but struggling to find out where to get this info.

I have tried NCS and was advised that they will “try” to check it at the appointment but may not be possible and they strongly advise for me to check before even making the appointment.

Tried UKV&I help line for BN and every time I try I got different answer, most of the time I got a wrong advise about “waiting 12 months from PR certificate issue date”. Couple of times guys knew what I wanted but said they do not have an access to any database to check it.

I was thinking about SAR but it apparently can take up to 40 days :/ and I’m not sure if Fast track option will provide the info we need?

On the other hand we haven’t provided any evidence after Feb 2014 so I cannot think the PR status can be any different than that, unless actual mistake was made by the case worker.

So I’m a bit stuck as we would like to apply straight away before the referendum (just in case) but not sure how I can check our deemed date of the PR status before making the application.

I’m not sure if there is a different contact number/email I could request this date?

Thanks!

A classic example of HO lefthand - righthand thinking.

Some members have reported success with a SAR.
And/or have reported NCS coming up trumps with a quick phone call to HO.

Depending on how long you can wait, one or other of these approaches seems to be your best bet.

Worst case at NCS, you risk only the £50-70 fee upfront instead of your £000s for naturalisation.

Ohara many thanks for your picture that’s absolutely great!!

Can you just confirm was that request for full SAR or a Fast tracked one?

It says under the Fast track “IT info” which should be enough but I’m not sure.

I did a full SAR as I was unaware of the fast track pilot at the time.

There is another member of this forum who did use the fast track though, he wrote that he only needed the date of acquiring PR, and he got the reply in one week (mine took six) and they also returned his £10 cheque.

I asked for everything and the bundle I received was about 30 pages which were all duplex printed. Most of it was copies of my EEA(PR) application.
