how long does it take to get a reply and haven read that you have to do biometrics now,is there a time frame to get a reply from ukvi,for COA and biometrics

Regulation 17 (3) provides for a period of 6 months.

how about receipt or acknowledgement of the receipt of the application.how long does that take.the link you have sent me talks about how long it takes to make a decision,am asking how long before they sent an acknowledgement for the receipt of the application

Check the timeline thread to see what other members currently report.
In practice there's no enforceable SLA or guarantees here.
For example, some people don't even receive acknowledgement - and if they do there's no rhyme or reason to it.
