BRP enrolment

Hi,
I am filling up the form AN for British Citizenship.
I never applied for BRP before but it seems that it is compulsory to register my bio-metric information as per section 6 Biometric enrollment.
The question is:
1. When will they collect my biometric information? Will they send out a letter to ask me to do so?
2. Shall I go to post office and apply for BRP before AN form?
