Hi!

I'm an EEA national working in Uk. My partner (we have been together since 5years and we have proof of solid relationship) wants to apply for a unmarried visa but we don't understand what type of visa we need to apply for on the website Visa4uk (gov website). Can anybody help me? is it Tier 2 (General Visa)? we just got blocked on the first page!
About the documents needed, can anybody tell me if is it enough if I have rent a double room available for two in a shared house?
Thank you so much!!

Your partner needs to apply for an EEA permit for an extended family member, not a visa under UK Immigration Rules.

Just one point. You mention that you have been together for 5 years...have you been living together for the last 2 years? (maximum period apart of 6 months)

Thank you very much for your answer! So can you confirm me in the website you send me I have to chose other-EEA family member ?
About living together yes, we have proof of cohabitation for 4years and a half in Italy, he was living with me in my parents house, do you think it is enough? after that, we have holidays tickets, photos, I have an employement letter here and a NIN, I just don't know if the proof of the double room is enough! what do you think?
And also about the finance, I have a salary that is over 18.600, does he needs to show bank statement anyway?

You'll see in the second link I posted for you the following:
Evidence required for durable partners
The applicant and the EEA national sponsor must have been living together in a relationship
similar to marriage which has subsisted (continued in existence) for at least two years. The
evidence the applicant can provide may include (but is not limited to):
 Proof that any previous relationship has permanently broken down:
o degree absolute for marriages
o dissolution order for civil partnerships.
 Evidence of cohabitation for at least two years:
o bank statements or utility bills in joint names at the same address
o rent agreements
o mortgage payments
o official correspondence which links them at the same address.
 Evidence of joint finances, joint business ventures and joint commitments:
o tax returns
o business contracts
o investments.
 Evidence of joint responsibility for children such as a birth certificate or custody
agreement demonstrating that the two parties claiming to be in a durable relationship
are cohabiting and sharing responsibility for children.
 Photographs of the couple.
 Other evidence demonstrating their commitment and relationship
.

There is no set minimum income level for EEA applications. The £18,600 applies to settlement applications submitted under UK Rules.
What options were you given in the drop-down menu for type of application?
