PR application

Hi all
Need some help with my PR application that I intend to send in the next couple of days:

I am a non EU citizen, been married to my EU national husband (who has been exercising his treaty rights in UK for last 5 years). My current leave on 5 year residence card is expiring in a Nov 2016 (next month), and I am applying for PR this week. There are however, two issues I need help with:

1- My husband applied for his permanent residence a couple of months ago, on the basis of 5 years exercising treaty, and has not yet received any decision (only an email from HO confirming receipt of application along with application ref. number). Therefore, the documents I will need with my application to prove that my husband has been exercising treaty rights etc are already in possession of HO. Therefore, the only option I have, for my application, is to refer to his application reference number for all such documents.

Is there any issue with that. (To be honest, even if there is an issue, I don't have any other option as my current residence card is expiring in November).

2- Secondly, my employer is obviously concerned about what is going to happen to my working rights once my residence card expires next month. Will the HO confirm in their acknowledgement of receipt of my application that I am allowed to work until a decision is made.

Any help will by much appreciated. Please advise !

Even if your optional card expires it is not granting you any sort of leave; it is not a visa, it is merely a confirmatory document. The sky will not fall down.

If you apply before old RC expires you should get a long COA confirming right to work.
And if HO plays hardball and only issues a short COA by default you are (in these circumstances) able to have it corrected to be a long COA.

Thanks !
Agreed, RC is only a confirmatory document. But its importance in relation to employment is extremely high, as it is the only proof employers have for someone's 'right to work'. Hence, my concern. (In fact, my employer is already asking me when I can provide a document / visa from HO confirming extension of my right to work etc. And I am afraid if I don't get a confirmation from HO, they might not continue my employment once the RC expires next month.)
Also, (excuse my ingornace, but) what does 'COA' mean please !

Just another question while competing the form: Do I need to complete "section 11- Spouse, civil partner or durable partner of the sponsor" as well ?
