EEA Family Permit, we are really stuck, please advice

Hello everyone,

My wife is a Bulgarian and the rest of the family (I and our 2 children) are non-EU citizens. We have been married for 20 years. She will move to UK and start working in January 2017 then we will apply for EEA Family Permit. Of course we researched and reached to tons of information, but we really need some accurate info regarding the following. Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

1- Does she still need an ''accession worker card'' (that given to Bulgarians and Romanians), If Yes, is it difficult to get one to work?
2- it seems she will need to earn enough income to be able to support our family in the UK. What is the acceptable amount of money in the UK for EEA Family Permit application?
3- Can we apply as soon as she gets first payslip, a rented suitable house and home office registration?
4- Do I have to be working in our origin country during application or no one cares about my job status?

To the best of my knowledge, they are no longer required. But wait for others to comment.

There is no minimum income requirement. But she must demonstrate that the work is "genuine and effective" and not "marginal and ancillary".
imbik wrote:3- Can we apply as soon as she gets first payslip, a rented suitable house and home office registration?
She does not have to wait that long. She does not have to exercise treaty rights for the first three months. From the fourth month on, if she has not got a job, she can exercise her rights by being a self-sufficient person with private health insurance.
imbik wrote:4- Do I have to be working in our origin country during application or no one cares about my job status?
It is irrelevant. It is your wife's exercise of treaty rights that is relevant.

1) No.

2) No need; there is a 3 month grace period in UK.

3) Apply for FP before you travel to UK. You may travel with wife, no need for her to go it alone ahead of you.

4) Its immaterial.

EEA Family permit, travelling all together

Hello everyone,

OK, It is clear that we can apply to EEA Family permit and travel all together as a family, if accepted. We know she has 3 months to create a funding in the UK. Nevertheless, we are not sure about the following;
1- Neither my wife (Bulgarian citizen) nor I and our children (Turkish citizens) have been to UK before, so what my wife should write in letter of intent and application form? ( looking for a job, will be self-employed or nothing)
2- Do we have to mention about accommodation? (Hotel, house, etc.)
3- Do we need to go to Bulgaria and get an approval for our Turkish marriage?

Thanks in advance

Welcome.

1) Put whatever is most accurate.

2) Add detail if you have it.

3) Not if you have Hague Convention (internationally-recognised) marriage certificate.
Translate documents (by professional/official translator) if not in English.

Thanks a lot. By the way, I was reviewing a guidance for VAF5 form and realized that each non-EU citizen in a family (including children under 18) should fill the form separately which means I will fill it 3 times, am I right?

Cordially

Yes, one form each.

the last one :shock:

it seems, firstly I should register and create an account in visa4uk website than it will direct me to the VAF5 form. If so;
Do I need to register and create an account for each family member or does it allow me to apply 3 times consecutively by my account? Moreover it will probably redirect me to a page where I will choose the appointment date after application, am I going to do it 3 times also for appointment?

or...beyond these questions, is it an empty talk?

respects

isn't there anyone who applied to an EEA Family permit for herself / himself and dependent children. As explained above we really need to know about how to apply separately for each non-EU family member.

Regards

I've not registered and applied online as not had the need to do so (yet).
Plenty of members have though, but probably cooking their dinners at the mo.
Stand by.

EEA Family permit, language proficiency

Hi again,

As an EU-citizen my wife is going to write a letter of intent but she has basic English so I have to do it. Do they call the EU-citizen afterwards in order to ask any question. If so, do we have to mention about her language level and who wrote the letter?

Thanks

Kindly post all your questions in your topic
- this one.

You are over-thinking this.

There will be no questions around English proficiency.
And unlikely to be any follow up phone call.

Anyone may write the letter, wife to sign it.

noajthan,

Have you had your dinner? :shock: Because here is my next mind-boggling question;

Does EU-citizen's second passport somehow matter for EEA family permit? I mean, my wife is Bulgarian but she also has Turkish passport like other family members and it says old passports and visas may be supportive. She has lots of visas in TR passport like us.

Anyway, enjoy your meal.

I'm not sure if non-EEA passports help or not; the main thing an EU/EEA sponsor has to prove apart from identity is that they are a Union citizen.

and...finally we got the EEA FP for me and our 2 children. Sorry for not writing for 3 weeks, it took me long time to gather the necessary documents and to apply 3 times consecutively. Anyway, thanks a lot to anyone who helped us during the process. I reached to valuable information in this forum which encouraged me to apply ourselves.

Applying for spouse and 2 children ( under 21 ) was a tough but informative experience, so I can share any info with people who is in our situation. By the way, I will write all the steps we have taken when it is ready.

Have a good evening

EEA (FM)_EEA2 route for a family

Ok, we got our EEA Family permits last week and will be in the UK in February. As a reminder;
I and my wife have been married for 20 years and have two children (17 and 9). My wife is an EEA national, I and the children are non EEA nationals.

I have red many topics in this forum about EEA(FM)_EEA2 route and reviewed the official guidance but could not clearly understand what to do first and how to schedule it. Moreover the children's situation confuses me more. Some of the issues we have may seem personal but we believe they are related to the EEA(FM) route, so we respectively ask for your advice as we have no idea at all;

1- We will stay at our friend's house then find one for rent. Do we need to do something official in the UK or have any document before renting? I mean do house owners ask for anything that we may not have?
2- it seems applying to NINO is the first priority. Do we apply for each family member?
3- Do we need to have ( or to do) something in the UK before we apply for a bank account?
4- Do we need to have ( or to do) something in the UK before we find a school for our children?
5- Some people say, having a register in HO and the local police department is the first priority.
6- When our documents are ready, can we apply for a registration certificate (EEA nationals) and residence card (non-EEA nationals) at the same time?
7- Do I have to fill just 1 form for EEA(FM) application or 3 like I did for EEA Family permit?
8- How long my EEA national wife should be working before we apply for EEA(FM)?

Of course I am doing my own research daily but we are 4 person so any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Good job.

2) Everyone who needs one (working age)
https://www.gov.uk/apply-national-insurance-number

3) Check proofs of id.
Look for 'basic bank account' designed for migrants - some banks offer them.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/bankin ... k-accounts

4) Contact local education authority / check local council website.
See https://www.gov.uk/guidance/schools-adm ... s-children

5) No. Don't think so. Not a police state here.

6) Yes

7) QP for sponsor: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... orm-eea-qp

FM for dependents: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... orm-eea-fm

8] Probably after 2 or 3 months in order to assemble adequate supporting evidence.

Good luck. And welcome to UK.

@ Kothai, instead of tagging someone's topic (3 times over) suggest open own topic with own question - as your circumstances will be particular to you.

I have red the guidance for each form. It says we can use the second form (FM for dependents) for both Registration certificate and residence card applications. But QP form also says it is for registration certificate.

What is the point of issuing two forms for the same purpose and what would you prefer?

Sorry for inconvenience again.
