permanent residence absences

hi!
I came in the UK on 20 november 2013. I 've always had only short absences, but from 20 july 2015 to 25 january 2016 I was abroad outside UK (total: 6 months and 5 days). Can I split the "6 months and 5 days" absence in two separate years? I know I can't be absent from UK more than 6 months over a year, but since I came in the UK in november, every year starts in november, I think I had 4 months absence the second year and 2 months and 5 days absence the third year... am I wrong?
Best regards

That is correct. Your years start in November.
However
1) make it very clear on your application that you were absent. My first application was refused because the caseworker didn't understand that I was not in the UK
2) do the calculation for them and remind them of their own rules. Make it very clear that u did not break the residency requirement

Yes calculate from Nov-Nov.
If absent for a one-off but exceptional reason - pregnancy, study leave, work assignment etc (or perhaps a combination of these reasons) you may be absent for up to one year.
If it was for military service then absence is permitted for as long as it takes to get the job done.

Thanks, but I stayied 6 months and 5 days continuosly outside the UK, with my family... are you sure I can split this period in 2 different years since I came in november? I still have the same doubt, maybe I have broken residency requirements. My worry is that I couldn't stay outside the uk continuosly so long, regardless of when I arrived

However valuable staying with family is not exceptional so the one-off clause cannot apply.
But yes, split the absence around November (as also intimated above).
Suggest explain in a short cover note and all should be well. Some ticket stubs and/or booking letter/email would help too.
