Hi, I made a application for a Resident Card in June, I am from the St.Lucia, before i arrived here i was unable to apply for a family permit, every time i did tried online it kept telling me that i don't need a visa to join my partner for 6 month or less. i know we are legally allowed 6 months stay in the UK so i am not sure if that's the reason and the family permit is also the same 6 months. I contaced Home office from my country before coming over to tell them of this and i was told to come over and when i get here i should apply for a Resident card. which i did, i received letter for Bio-metrics and later received a COA. I requested my passport back a week ago and received it this morning as i want to travel to Czech with my husband for the Christmas period. with the passport i got a letter saying that if i am planning to travel i must apply for a Family permit in order to enter the UK. It all comes back to the same thing, When i go to GOV.UK and try to apply it says that i do not need a visa to join my partner for 6 month or less. I contacted the home office and paid to speak with a Adviser and all he did was made me feel like a liar by telling me that the information that i am giving is false and the website is not set up to say such, and he doesn't know who i spoke to but they would never advice someone to come over etc. i paid for a call and was left feeling like a liar. I am worried that if i go to Czech i will have problems applying for a family permit to re-enter the UK. The time frame for my Residence card is almost up. 15 of December will be 6 months. I wonder if i have messed it up by asking for my passport to be returned.

Which website did you try applying for a FP from? Are you married to your partner?

I haven't used the site myself so I don't know how it works but it sounds like you're going in the right direction. If it is giving that response after selecting the correct options, it sounds like HO actually WANTS you to come to the UK visa free.

You would most likely be able to enter the UK under the EEA regulations if you are travelling with your wife and have your marriage certificate etc (the same evidence you would submit for the FP application).

I am actually in the UK, They did allow me to enter under EEA Regulations and ask that i apply for a Residence Card. Which i did but have not received, The issue that i am having is that i requested my passport back to travel with my Husband to Czech, With it came a letter saying that if i go to Czech i will need to apply for a family Permit to re-enter UK but then when i go to WWW.GOV.UK to try to apply. it keeps telling me that i do not need a visa to join my partner for 6 month or less. I have been in the UK since JUNE, working etc cause i got a COA which permitted me to work. I was allowed in for 6 months under EEA Regulations which is the time Frame i need to get a Residence Card But since after i received the COA, i have not heard anything from HO, except for this letter i received when i asked my passport to be returned. I have Contacted HO trying to explain to them that is is what i am getting when i try to apply but the agent there told me that what i am saying is false and the website will not say such....Basically he is trying to tell me i am lying.
