passport expiring - while EEA PR processing

Hello, I've just realized that my child's passport expires at the beginning of June 2017 - and we're waiting for our DCPRs to be issued by UKVI (I'm the main applicant, child is on my application as a family member - we're both EEA). UKVI received our PR applications on the 3rd of Jan 2017 and they've sent us the passports back last week on the 10th of Jan (I requested them for travelling purposes).

Now, from what I understand, the application can take up to 6 months to be processed, so that takes us to 3rd of July 2017.

However, my child's passport expires on the 6th of June - and I intend to renew the passport in May, before its expiry date. Is that a problem? Is there something that I can do about this?

up - please, any advice on this? not sure what I can do now, if anything - besides hoping to get the application processed before the passport expires (early June).

Looks like I've got an answer to my own question - I managed to call the EEA inquiry line and the lady on the phone said that as long as the passport was valid when UKVI received the application then we should be fine. I'll try and call one more time next week to see if I get the same kind of information from a different person - sadly they're known to give conflicting info.

Cheers.
