EEA Family Permit refused over birth certificate

Please i have been refused an EEA family application to join my father twice. On my birth certificate, i was born on 4TH APRIL 1997, and by birth was registered on 14TH MAY 1997 and the birth certificate was issued on 20TH MAY 2016.

In the refusal letter, the ECO stated that there wasnt any satisfactory explanations as to why my birth certificate was not issued until 20TH MAY, 2016.

But my father sworn an affidavit stating that, my birth certificate was first issued on 14TH May 1997 and that particular birth certificate is missing so the birth certificate submitted is the renewal of the old birth certificate which contains the same details. Upon all these explanations the ECO stated that the explanations are not satisfactory.

If there is something i need to do please help.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

You probably need a DNA test if your birth certificate is not accepted.

The more experienced members of this forum might have other suggestions.

Kind regard @BclassBritish

But the DNA test is somehow expensive so there is any other alternative.
Thank you

Were you married to the mother of this child at the time of birth.

There is a presumption of Paternity, unless proven otherwise, if the father and mother were married at the time of the child's birth.

Thanks so much for your early reply.

@noajthan. Please the birth certificate submitted is the original copy.

@obie, please my mum and daddy were not married at the time of my birth. My mum and dad got married in 2001.

So if there is any alternative please help me out.

Thanks y'all

You may wish to get a letter from the relevant registry office, confirming the time the birth certificate was registered.

In addition to what Obei has suggested you may as well do the DNA to proof that if you can afford it, then you have a very strong case. Home office must have seen a lot so am not surprise on this one. The caseworker was just trying pull you to convinced him/her more.

Good luck.
