Convert Tier 2 (ICT) visa to EEA Spouse residence card

I am an Indian citizen currently in the UK on Tier 2 (ICT) visa and I am married to a Bulgarian citizen. We have been married for 6 years and my wife has recently joined me in the UK. She is currently looking for a job. Based on what I have read so far, she needs to be a qualified person before I can apply for a residence card as a family member of an EEA national. It also feels that the surest and least troublesome way for my wife to be a qualified person is to get a permanent job.

Is my understanding correct? Is there any other easier way to change my ICT visa to a more flexible one?

If we go via the EEA spouse way,

1. Can I convert my Tier 2 (ICT) from within the UK?
2. If my wife leaves her job after an year, will it affect my right to work if I get a residence permit as her dependent, in spite of the fact that currently what I am earning can easily cover both of us financially?

As you are working and have Tier 2, I guess you will be self sufficient and can use your income together with medical insurance to support your application as self sufficient.

Thanks a lot for the response. I had the feeling that this would be a very complicated process but your answer seems to tell me otherwise (I am really hoping that it is as straightforward as you say).

Would you be able to give me a stepwise breakdown as to how I should approach this in the most efficient way from my wife's application to mine? Also, what are the things that I should be aware of? I really appreciate your time and help.
