Hi everyone. Thanks for the help rendered in this forum. I'd appreciate some advice on my case.
I was an overstayer from a non EU country before getting married to my first wife in 2011. She is from Belfast. Unfortunately the marriage broke down just a bit after 2yrs. My Rc was not cancelled and obviously I was not qualified for retention of rights . I met with a childhood girlfriend who is Irish and we ended up marrying each other before the expiry of the old Rc after divorce proceedings were completed with my Ex. I was then issued a new Rc valid for 5yrs.
My question is.
1) Can i apply for PR based on the time I have been in this country which is over 7yrs. Counting from the time I got my first Rc. Please note I did not use up the entire 5yrs of the first Rc before being granted the new one. I got the new one 3months before the expiry of the old Rc. However
I am not sure if it could be said i lived under EU regs for the whole of this period..
Please advice accordingly and let me know what documents I need to support my application if indeed I am qualified. Thank you.

How long was the gap between divorce and remarriage? Where were you during this period? It is quite likely that the gap is sufficient to break your continuity of residence in accordance with the regulations.
