PR for non EEA family member. Need help

Hi everyone
I am looking for some guidance. I have been living in UK since Jan 2005. Went to India for 2 months in 2008 and lost my passport there so had to get a new passport and new entry visa and this was all student visa. I got married to Polish citizen and I am on EEA family permit which expires on 3rd April and my passport expires on 7th April. We got married on 25th Oct 2012.
I would like to know what options I have but only using the EEA not being here for more than 10 years as losing old passport and creating the new one will have problems.
Do I need to renew my passport first in any case what so ever or is there an option in which I don't need to renew my Indian passport?
Is the only best way to go forward is to renew my passport first and then apply for PR on the basis of 5 years on EEA?
My partner has been a qualified person in UK from last more than 5 years.
Any help from anyone will be very much appreciated.

Hi

Apply for Permanent residence as soon as possible while your passport isn't expired. Also u need to apply before EEA 2 5 YEARS residence card runs out.

If ur wife/spouse has not applied for PR then apply together. Apply online if eu n non eu applying together as you will not have to go through 85 pages form.

Thank you so much for the advise.
Just one more question. If I apply now within a week, what about the passport? Do I not need to renew my passport after that or will I still need to renew my Indian passport after that?

Your application will not be affected if passport expires after making PR application. So apply as soon as you can !

You can renew passport after when they send it back with Biometric residence card.

PR is issued as Card like Driving licence ! Its not a visa vignette in Passport ! I hope this clears ur mind.

Apply online if u ( non eea) & eea national are applying together as online form Keep things sweet & simple ! & at end it will give u a CHECKLIST of what u need to send along with printed application

Hi
We both received PR. Just wanted to thank you again for the guidance. Just trying to find out now if I need to apply for Indian passport renewal again or there is any other option that I can go for. The letter says, I can only apply for British passport after 1 year of PR.

You need a valid passport in order to apply for citizenship otherwise you will need extensive documentation to prove you were in the UK since it expired.

On what date does the letter state you attained PR (this will be different to the date on the card)?
