NON EEA REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE HOLDER

Hello guys,

I am really confused and will appreciate if someone can help me.

I have two nationalities British and Bulgarian, my wife is a Japanese national.

In 2014 when she was in the UK we managed to issue for 5 years period: "Card of a Family Member of an EEA National", which expires in 2019 Dec

My wife left UK in 2016 and has been since in Japan.

My questions is: would she be able to return to the UK?

Because I heard from someone that if she was more than 6 months outside the UK the document (Card of a Family Member of an EEA National) is no longer valid.

Is that true?

When and how did you acquire your British nationality? Before 2014, did you reside in another EEA member-state with your Japanese wife before returning to the UK? Where are you resident now?

I acquired my British passport in 2016 around June or July and been living in the UK since 2009.

My wife lived 1 year in the UK with this card of a Family Member of an EEA National.

In 2015 Dec she left for Tokyo and since then she has been there.

This card/visa is expiring in 2019 do you think she can come still here?
