PR Card Expiry Confusion

Hi Everyone,

This question is for my friend.

Hi My friend (Non-Eu national) recently received his PR card from UKVI.

His card is expiring in February 2028. His solicitor is saying UKVI made mistake by typing expiry date Feb 2028 and he believes it should expire inline with EU policy that is in 2024.

Can someone please guide us what to do? Should we contact UKVI to get this changed?

2028 is correct if it was issued in 2018. Card will be worthless after Brexit though.

Issue date is in 2018, so they issued for exactly 10 years

Issue date: 20 February 2018
Expiry date: 20 February 2028

So if card is useless after 2019 what should we do?apply british passport before?

If you are eligible to apply for naturalization, why not. If not, you may need to apply for settled status which is supposed to be free in you case. It is still in the draft stages and not a done deal
