hi, Please I need help for a brother, his wife is taking child tax credit as a lone parent for a child from a previous relationship and now he wants to apply for permanent resident card. Can it affect his application. Thanks in advance for the help

She should NOT be claiming child tax credits as a single/lone parent because she is NOT a lone parent. This could be classed as benefit fraud. Child tax credits MUST be claimed jointly with your spouse you are living with.

she is already been caught and she is paying it back in monthly installments but we want to know if it can affect his permanent residence application
