Hello,

I’m a citizen of Libya born in the UK with no UK citizenship. Came to UK in 2014 as a student then met a EEA national and started a relationship. Applied for EEA residence permit as an unmarried partner and was granted in 2016. Unfortunately not the relationship is going through difficult times and I’m worried if she may leave me. I work as a doctor with the NHS for 1 year and a half.
I understand that I’ll lose all my rights to work or live in the uk once my relationship is dissolved, but on the other hand I fear going back to Libya as the situation there is not good at all. I have paper evidence that my flat got robbed, my mother’s house was also robbed my brother was beaten up by armed gangs, my cousin was shot dead. All these horrible events happened while I was here in the uk and I could never go back since I arrived here more than4 years ago. I do not know what may happen to me if I go there after all this time.
What are my chances for FLR on basis of human rights? Is my case strong enough ?

What was the outcome of your situation? I’m going through the same circumstances. Over the last few months I’ve been verbally abused by her ( EU national ) and constantly threatened of being kicked out of the country after every little argument, also she started sleeping with another man and telling me details about just to emotionally destroy me and put me under extreme pressure.
I work with the NHS as a doctor and this problem has been giving me lots of stress!
I am from a war torn country and my life is in danger if I go back there having worked here for 4 years makes me a vulnerable target where doctors from overseas are regularly kidnapped for ransom.
There’s no British Embassy in my country, I can only apply in one of the neighbouring countries for Tier2 but non of them would allow me to enter as I hold a 14 year old yet valid passport.
I’m in a difficult situation and your advice would definitely be helpful, please!

I have split your post from the one you tagged it on, as it is unhelpful to tag on a topic that is nearly a decade old.

In regards to your post, then i believe the Option of Asylum is open to you if the situation in your Home COuntry is such that you cannot return there.
