Non EU national mother of German children

Hello everyone
I am a Nigerian citizen and a mother of German children but not married to their Father.I presently hold a Residence permit and want to travel to the UK on holiday with my kids. Do I need to apply for the EEA visa? We intend travelling by land(Eurostar).
Please what requirements would I need to to meet. Thank you.
