Hi would really appreciate some help here-

I have lived in the UK for 10 years-
From Sept 2009-Sept 2014 as a non EU student
From Sept 2014- now as a tax paying EU citizen

According to new law I can apply for a settled status September next year, however, I want to take a sabbatical to travel for 5-6 months next summer, June till the end of the year.

I wanted to know if this would this reset the clock or if I can come back on January 2020 and apply for the settled status.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Which new law are you referring to?
Nothing has been enacted in UK law regarding "settled status".

Hi, sorry I meant going forward, I guess my question is will I be able to leave for 5/6 months next summer without my 5 year count resetting. I know that I can under the current permanent residence, but do we know if this will also apply for the settled status?

As "settled status" will be a UK only arrangement we need to see what the law & regulations will say, and how transitional arrangements are defined. I doubt anyone here can give a definitive answer - ergo my previous reply.
