Court fine and 10 points on driving license, what will be the chance of getting Settled status or British citizenship?

I have been recently (June 2018) convicted as “in charge of vehicle - alcohol level above the limit”. Breath reading was 57. This is the only conviction I received first time in my life. I received 10 penalty points on license and £192 fine. I said to the court, this conviction or criminal record can be a immigration problem, however court said Home office do consider the seriousness of the crime.

In 3 months time I am going to be eligible to apply for British citizenship. I am non EU family member of an EU citizen since last 6 years. Will I have any chance to get “British Citizenship” or “Settled status” under Brexit agreement.

Members and expert advice will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Do you have PR?
You mention British Citizenhip and "Settled Status" in the same sentence.
What are you applying for?

As we understand there will be a criminal records check for settled status. Citizenship is under different laws with compulsory "good character" declaration. You should post in the BC forum where these questions are discussed regularly. Nobody can guarantee you will be ok with your application. You need to declare the offences, if not that will also go against the "good character" requirement.

Sorry I didn’t write enough information. And later I couldn’t edit.
Let me write again.

I have been recently (June 2018) convicted as “in charge of vehicle - alcohol level above the limit”. In charge of a vehicle means I was sitting inside a car in the passenger seat drunk, not driving. Driver had provisional license so technically I am considered as a supervisor of the driver. My breath reading was 57. This is the only conviction I received first time in my life. I received 10 penalty points on license and £192 fine. I said to the court, this conviction or criminal record can stop me from applying British citizenship or Settled status after Brixit, however court said Home office do consider the seriousness of the crime.

Currently I have UK permanent residency card under EU law. In 3 months time I am going to be eligible to apply for British citizenship. I am non EU family member of an EU citizen since last 6 years. Will I have any chance to get “British Citizenship” or “Settled status” under Brexit agreement.

Members and expert advice will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

I would expect you to get settled status. You will have to wait a few more years for British citizenship because of the conviction.

No. You will have to rely on your marriage certificate, evidence that you are joining or acompanying your spouse, and the ability to get to the border.
