PR Application - translations

Hi all,

I'm preparing to apply for PR (for my non-EEA wife, here by Surinder Singh route — I'm British)

I have a lot of bank statements, kids school reports, house contract, records of self-employment etc.

In the guidance it says:
"All documents not in English or Welsh must be accompanied by an official English translation provided by a qualified translator."

I'm assuming (hoping!) they're not expecting me to have everything translated into English?

I'm hoping it's only marriage certificates? Maybe birth certificates?

Does anyone know which documents need to be translated?

Many thanks!

PR application: sickness a problem?

Hi all,

I'm preparing to apply for PR (for my non-EEA wife, here by Surinder Singh route — I'm British)

I've been self-employed for the 5 year period up to now, but over the last month I've had to take time off due to sickness. I have a doctors note etc. but am a bit worried about reporting it and claiming financial help, in case this has an effect on the stipulation for having to live here for 5 years while being in work.

I'm guessing that, although I'm off work sick for 4 weeks or so, I'm still self-employed so it'll be OK, but really not sure...

Stressful situation, so any help much appreciated, thanks!
