Hi Guys,

• Me Pakistani National
  Wife British National
  Surrinder Singh route taken from Netherlands

We came to the UK from the Netherlands in August 2014.

• 1) We applied for the Visa from the Netherlands after living there for roughly 9 months
  2) We arrived in the UK in August 2014
  3) I recieved my family eea2
  4) I am eligible for permanent residency in August 2019.

I have been working/studying since we entered the UK.

My wife for a very short period of time received JSA (less than 2 months)

She is still currently receiving child benefits.

I believe we also received council tax support for awhile.

My question is, I had no idea that the law changed and that she should have been working these whole 5 years! Should I get CSI cover? I believe the law changed in 2016...

Are we totally screwed now, and does the clock start over? I dont want to be stuck in limbo for another 5 years.

Should I just wait until this settled status thing rolls out and than get than and apply for british nationality?

Does employment need to be continuous for 5 years? Would it be a good idea to get CSI insurance now, even though I did not have it since 2016?
