Hi,
I have been looking at the options I have regarding me and my Ukrainian wife to enter the UK. I am a UK national and have a UK address and also have a business there. I have been living in Ukraine since December last year. My question is would it be possible for us to drive to Calais to use the channel tunnel. I know my wife has visa free travel throuhhout Europe execpt the UK. Would she gain entry if we took all relevant paperwork with us ?
Regards
Paul

The spouse of a British citizen is NOT the family member of an EEA citizen in the UK and is ineligible to enter the UK as one, unless the British citizen has moved to another EEA member-state, exercised treaty rights there and moved the centre of his life to that other EEA member-state. As the Ukraine is not an EEA member-state, your sojourn in the Ukraine does not count for this purpose.

Your wife will most likely be denied entry to the UK at Calais. She will need to apply for a UK spouse visa, which has financial and other requirements.
