I am from the commonwealth and my partner's from Italy, I applied for the right to remain in 2016, the application was refuse and all document was returned aside from my partner's Italian passport, it was sent to the Italian embassy. I called the home office reporting that we couldn't get the passport back and maybe they could help by any means, they said we should visit the consulate.
The passport would expire this month August, I have tried all possible means online to book an appointment for a new passport but all effort is in vain.
Does any Italian or anyone know how to get an appointment in the Italian consulate office for a renewal?

Italian booking for consulate is hard, but not impossible. You have to put an alarm in your phone and connect every day at the posting of the new "tickets". You can use if you want multiple devices, provided they don't use the same ip (the same Internet connection). Maybe you can use your phone or tablet with a 3g 4g phone connection, and a pc with your home internet connection.

Believe me is possible just be patient when connecting, don't rush the web page, is very badly programmed. But you have to enter every day and learn from your mistakes.

Have you considered a visit in person to the consulate, maybe they can help you.
