Hello all,

Im new to this and i am desperate for advise and help!

I am a non EEA citizen and my partner is an EEA citizen. We have been together for 6 months and my current visa will come to an end soon. We want to be together and eventually get married and we are exploring ways of achieving this.

We called the home office for advise and they suggested applying for a EFM visa, on reading the guidance, i note that they have emphasized that we have to demonstrate that the relationship has been on going for 2 years or more. Which is our dilemma.

To throw the spanner in the work, i have a child from a previous relationship and we intend to live with my child here in the UK.

What are the chances of success with such an application?

Does anyone have a similar experience?Do you perhaps know how we can demonstrate the durability of our relationship? would it be better if we get married?

I'd be grateful for your advises!!!!

What is your current visa that you hold?

How long have you been in the UK?

What nationality is your child?

How long have you lived with your EU (non British) citizen partner in 'a relationship akin to marriage', if you have only 'been together' for 6 months?

What EU nationality is your partner and what do they do in the UK to exercise treaty rights?
