EEA PR application- Decision letter stating date of permanent residence status

Hi Guys,
I hope one of you can guide me. I have made an EEA PR application to Home Office as a non-EEA spouse of a EEA national. My application was successful and I received my EEA PR biometric card. However, it doesn't state the date of my right of permanent residence.
I see most people here talking about a 'Decision Letter' that states that date. I have never received one. So for guys who received such a letter, was it attached to your BRP? or with your returned documents? Do I need to separately request that letter?
Thank you in advance
