Hi everyone,
My Thai wife and I moved to the UK from Thailand in June. We were told to wait 5 months before applying for her permanent residence card. I have found full time work and she has part time work. Can someone advise me on how to apply?
Many thanks,
Darragh

She doesn't qualify for Permanent residence as she doesn't have 5 years residence in the UK.
She must apply for an eea residence card which will be valid for 5 years before she can apply for PR.
EEA permit to permanent residence card question

Hi everyone,
My Thai wife and I have been in the UK for 6 months now. She is working full time (34 hours per week) in a restaurant I am working part time in a gym (16 hours per week).
We are going to apply for her permanent residence card but we aren't sure if I earn enough to be her sponsor? She has a UK bank account and payslips, would this be enough?
Any advice is greatly appreciated,
Darragh

Part-time work counts and technically there's no minimum earnings threshold, so long as it is not what the HO call "marginal or supplementary" work.

Like CR001 said, your wife needs to apply for a Residence Card (not a Permanent Residency Card).
It's more important to show your earnings, as you are the EEA sponsor - so you should send your pay slips/bank statements and maybe, if you can get it, a letter from your employer confirming you work there, how many hours, etc. I'm presuming you're an EEA citizen.
You can use this form for both of you - form EEA (QP):
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... orm-eea-qp
Through this EEA (QP) form, you are applying for a Registration Certificate (RC) and are the main applicant, and she is applying for a Residence Card.
If you don't want to apply at the same time as her, she needs to use form EEA (FM), with you as her sponsor:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... orm-eea-fm

Thank you very much for your detailed reply Niki. We will use apply at the same time and hopefully it will be approved.
Kind regards,
Darragh
