EU spouse with UK resident card travel to Germany with EU national

Hi all,

I am aware that this question has been asked few times in the forum, however, I had hard time finding the old posts.

Just would like to confirm with you to avoid any problems, thanks in advance.

I will be heading to Germany for a job interview soon, and my husband will take 2 days of work and come with me to avoid the visa application. I am holding a UK resident card issued last October, we will also bring along the marriage certificate. Will that be fine for the trip?

Additionally, I had a new passport issued last month since the old one (which I applied the UK resident card with) is expiring this year. I checked online and it says as long as I bring both passports with me, it will not be an issue when coming back to UK. Is that correct?

Many thanks.

Hi.

This is only from my experience. I travelled to Cyprus last August with my husband without visa and was able to get through without problem. There was about 10-15 minutes wait due to them checking papers but that’s it really. It wasn’t that difficult, just be patient. 😊

Regarding the 2nd question, I asked that to this forum before and was told that as long as you travel with both old and new you will be fine. xx
