Greetings,

I'm hoping someone on the forum can clear up how to proceed. Thanks ahead of time for reading.

I came to visit my UK best friend (now my wife) May 2012, I proposed in July (only to learn Theresa May had passed £18,600 law that meant we did not qualify for visa application) and stayed 6 months until Nov 2012. I returned July 2013 and stayed until 24 Dec 2013 at which point my fiancee and I moved to Ireland. Both of these times I was on a visitor visa.

While there she exercised her EU treaty rights by being full-time employed in Ireland until May 2014.

I was given EEA Family Permit 9 May 2014 and we moved back to UK soon after.

I was given EEA Residence Permit 23 Aug 2014.

My question is when am I eligible to apply for Permanent Residence? Do I have to wait until 1 May 2019? Or can I apply sooner?

Thanks!

EEA (PR) - Surinder Singh

I was given my Family Permit May 2014, 5 year Residence on Aug 2014. My wife (British) has been self-employed with Child Support, Housing benefit, and working tax credits since we returned.

Does this mean that I am unable to apply for Permanent Residence?

Suddenly very confused and worried. Thanks.
