EU Naturalisation Settled Status

I would be very grateful for any advice I could receive in regards to the below. Thank you in advance.
Situation:
EU national.
Entered UK in 2010 - continuous residence since.
Never applied for PR as there was no need.
Applied for Settled Status under new Settlement scheme - obtained this month.
Observations:
Satisfied 6 year residency rule in 2016.
Understand that if you have already lived here over 6 years, UKVI will certify the date you obtained PR status (so would have not been the date of document issue).
Had no way in the Settlement Scheme to indicate a "qualifying period" I wished to be considered - was all automatic. So for all I know, the last 5 years were used.
Letter states ILR/Settled Status is effective from date of issue (this month).
Home Office Literature:
If you have been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK, including under the EU Settlement Scheme, and use that to support your application we will use the date you were granted ILR as the date that you became free of immigration time restrictions. If you acquired permanent residence before being granted indefinite leave to remain under the Settlement Scheme and want to rely on the date that you acquired permanent residence for your citizenship application, you will need to have a permanent residence document.
Question(s):
Having used the Settlement Scheme, am I correct in assuming I will not be able to apply for the PR document anymore, being a now superseded document? Have I effectively uncessarily forced myself to wait 12 months now to apply for naturalisation when I could have applied straightaway had I applied for a PR document?
