USA criminal record RC application

Hello all,

I`m in need of some serious advice regarding my partner`s application for a residence card.

I have a conviction from USA, felony and misdemeanour charge - shoplifting - back in Jan 2015. Custodial sentence was time-served - one month.
As an EU citizen living in UK, I will be sponsoring my wife`s residence card application. What are the chances of RC being rejected due to my bad history? According to ROA 1974 my conviction is spent, however reading online and speaking with other people, immigration law is exempt from ROA.

Also, if RC is rejected what other options we have? My wife never had any criminal record whatsoever.

Thanks a lot everyone

Providing that is your only conviction, I think you should be fine.

Not sure if this helps at all, but my EEA Registration Certificate (which I know is different to what your applying for) was approved despite having received a conviction in the UK 10 years ago where I received a 14 month sentence.
