Hi there,
My resident card 5 years ( married to EU) will expires in May and I’m wondering do I need to apply a month in advance or can I apply just few days before it expires?
I have a trip planned for the 18/5 and it will expire on 31/5.
Also do I need to send my passport by post? Thanks

There is no 'one month in advance' concession for EEA route applications. You need the full 5 years residence.

if you are asking about PR card on the bases of 5 years RC then your five years count starts with your marriage date. you can apply for PR card as soon as your marriage completed 5 years.

For clarity, this only applies if a person married in the uk. It doesn't apply to marriage abroad, then date of entry is relevant.
