hi everyone

i am filling my EEA permanent residence form and got confused with the term sponsor. As in my case i came to UK in march 2014 as a family member of an EU (Italian) national, but in 2018 i also got Italian citizenship. Since last five years I am continuously working.

My question is if i can apply eea pr on my own or i still need a sponsor? as the following statement written in the form confuses me

section 2 - your sponsor:
"Complete this section with details of your sponsor if, during the relevant qualifying period, you
have mainly had a right of residence as a family member or extended family member".

As from 2014 to 2018 i was using right of residence as a family member of an EU national. I am not sure if I can apply by my own.

Any help will be highly appreciated

Thanks for your time

Provided your EEA family member has continued to be a qualified person since you arrived in March 2014, I think you can apply for EEA (PR) as a combination of being a family member of an EEA qualified person, who would be your sponsor (2014-2018) + being an EEA qualified person yourself (2018-2019).
I don't think you can apply on your own, no.

You might want to consult a lawyer for some advice - the pro-bono lawyers at UKCEN could give you initial pointers.

Remember that if the UK leaves the EU with No Deal, it's likely EEA (PR) applications could close on 29 March 2019.
If the UK leaves with a Deal (probably unlikely, given yesterday's vote) - EEA (PR) applications will close on 31 December 2020.

You can also apply for Settled Status by the way - if you don't have a BRP document and an Android 6.0, you can apply from 30 March.
